Village Sainte-Catherine à Vars - Hautes-Alpes

Vars Sainte-Catherine

Thanks to its old barns and chalets, Vars Sainte-Catherine keeps its traditional mountain looks. Most houses (very often old farms) are respectful of old building uses : stone foundation, upper level made of wood (larch), balcony to dry the laundry.

These mountain village aspects, together with the good ski areas make this village a favourite.

If you don’t want to drive, a free shuttle car is available at regular times of the day, in front of the chalet on the small village square. This shuttle will drop you in front of the ski lifts and will take you back home.

Access to slopes :
For those that do not wish to take their car, a free shuttle bus in front of the chalet runs every half hour, and will drop you off in front of the ascent of your choice and will take you back to the chalet after skiing.
